Here's a video on beginning building from the "Noob Be Gone" video series. It's a good overview from nice folks - and, they are funny, too!

The only problem is that the compression of the video (this one is on is on youtube.com) makes the small building control panel details illegible. You can see the general areas of the panel, but can't read the labels. So, it's a good idea to make liberal use of the pause button on the video, and watch it while you are inworld. That way, you can pull up your own build panel and see all the text and buttons as you go.
