SL URL Teleport Utility Web Site

SLURL is a website that takes a URL-formatted Second Life location, displays a map of the location and surrounding area, and offers to teleport you there.

You must be inworld for the teleport to work, of course, and additionally, you won't actually teleport there until you click the "Map" button and then the "Teleport" button. So, actually, this site just loads the SL location into your Map when you are inworld.

You can also build SLURLS to use in your own blog postings, etc.

Incidentally, the SLURL maps are useful for scanning SL areas in general. The problem is that once you find an area that looks interesting, the SLURL site will not tell you the name or location of the area - even though you can scroll around looking at the whole of SL. If you find something that looks interesting in SLURL, you'll have to use your inworld "Map" to try and locate it as well via bearing and scrolling. It can be pretty tedious.
