Mike, a newspaper reporter in his 30's and Brenda, a newspaper reporter in her 30's are seated at the break table, each drinking a can of soda. Both are dressed as business-casual. Perhaps a half-eaten pizza or sandwhich is on the table as well.
--- MIKE ---
And then she said that it wasn't about runaways or prostitution at all, but that this guy had some underground laboratory, and was turning people into animals or some crazy thing.
--BRENDA--
What, like Island of Dr. Moreau or something?
(We see Amanda turn and look at them, apparently startled by something they said.)
---MIKE---
Exactly! She even said that HG Wells was inspired by the same cult that is operating on the island today.
---AMANDA---
What island?! Er, I mean, what kind of rubbish place are they saying has some cult on it?
---MIKE---
Oh, I think they called it like, Otober Island or something. No, wait. October Country. That was it. It's got a creepy hotel and a list of missing persons and everything.
---BRENDA---
Don't tell me you think it's another one of your vampire stories, Amanda.
---AMANDA---
Someday Brenda, you may find out that there is more out there than is drempt of in your philosophy, Horatio. And I won't hold it against you. Heck, I didn't believe it either.
