One of the more rewarding things about SL is how fun it is to give things to other avatars. You can make gifts of clothing, landmarks, buildings, furniture, cars, boats, planes, and more.

Giving a gift to another avatar is easy -- and kind. Remember that the more you give away in SL, the higher your generosity rating in your Profile will be.

Now, in order to give something away, you have to own it first. All that means is, it has to be in your Inventory. Anything you've bought or received in SL will be there. But, before you go giving things away, be sure to check on whether you can give it away.

Take a look at your Inventory. See the items above, marked "No Transfer?" Well, these things, you can't give away at all. Sorry.

See the items here marked "No Copy?" These, you can give away, but when you give them, you will lose them from your Inventory. That may or may not be a bad thing.

Now here's some good giveaway stuff! See how these Inventory items have no restrictions at all on them? You can give them out like wildfire, and a copy will always stay in your Inventory for you. Woo!

If you want to give an avatar something, first you need to open their Profile. (Just right-click on the avatar, and select "Profile" from the pie-menu.)

Take a look at the bottom of the Profile box. See the place where you can drop your gifts? It says, "Drop Inventory Item Here."

Next, locate the item you want to give in your Inventory. Click on it, and drag it to the Profile box. That's all there is to it. See? I just gave a nice cup of green tea to my friend Nikola Moody.

. . . And no need to fiddle with gift wrap!
